David appears on BBC Radio Ulster to explain his motion criticising the NI Attorney General
David appeared on the BBC’s Radio Ulster to explain the motion he put forward in the House of Commons, criticising the Attorney General for Northern Ireland- John Larkin QC- for his attempts to prosecute Peter Hain for contempt of court.
He explained that the laws under which Mr Hain is being prosecuted were considered antiquated a century ago, and were fundamentally opposed to freedom of speech and- by extension- democracy. The prosecution of the case against Peter Hain, he said, could cost £300,000 merely so that a single judge might avoid being offended.
