David calls for people from across the region to put themselves forward as Crime Commissioner
David called for people from across the Humberside region to put themselves forward as the Conservative candidate for Crime Commissioner in November’s election for the newly created post.
He said that, although the Humberside police worked tirelessly to combat crime in the area, the creation of Crime Commissioners across the entire country would introduce a welcome extra element of accountability to the force.
David made clear that “the Conservative Party wants a candidate who understands what the local public wants out of their police force. They should demonstrate proven leadership skills and a clear vision of how we restore the link between the police and those they serve.”
He further stated that “we are looking for a diverse range of candidates to apply from public sector workers and those in Humberside’s business community, to young professionals and former military personnel, we need a contender who recognises the issues facing local neighbourhoods.”
