David Davis encourages local organisations to apply for The People’s Millions
Sir David Davis encourages local organisations to apply to compete for community project funding. The Big Lottery Fund and ITV are giving the public a chance to vote for the community projects they want to receive funding. A total of £3.8 million is available in 2013, they will be awarding up to £50,000 to 76 projects across every region of the UK to charitable projects which inspire, involve and improve their local community. For a week in November, those who make the best applications will battle it out on prime time regional news for the public vote.
Of this opportunity Sir David Davis said: “The People’s Millions offers a great opportunity for local voluntary and community groups to gain funding for their project, and to achieve a greater awareness and support via the televised competition. Haltemprice and Howden has a great record of successful Lottery Fund bids through the Heritage Lottery fund and I would encourage local organisations to apply for this funding through The People’s Millions to continue this great tradition of successful Lottery Funding.”
