David Davis looks set to rebel against the Government’s HS2 high-speed rail
As published in the Hull Daily Mail in brief:
East Yorks: MP David Davis looks set to rebel against the Government’s HS2 high-speed rail.
Mr Davis has tabled an amendment to the Hybrid Bill that will pave the way for the high-speed rail line linking London to the North.
The amendment, which has been tabled in conjunction with Litchfield MP Michael Fabricant and Gainsborough MP Edward Leigh, has called for the Government to consider a more “environmentally sympathetic and cost-effective’ route.”
The Bill will return to the House of Commons on April 28.
