Sir David Davis pays tribute to BAE union conveners
Sir David Davis has praised the work of BAE union conveners Roy Cartwright and Ian Gent, who have taken voluntary redundancy after more than 40 years working for BAE.
As reported in the Hull Daily Mail:
Mr Davis said: “I think the people of Brough, both in the community and at the factory, probably don’t know quite how much they owe to Roy Cartwright and Ian Gent.
“They were extremely brave under difficult circumstances. They were steady and they were determined and were everything you would look for in allies in a battle.”
“I will miss them both professionally, as the battle to maintain jobs at the site continues, and personally.”
