David Davis supports school for social enterprise in Yorkshire and the Humber

Now in its third year, the Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland School for Social Entrepreneurs is returning to Yorkshire and the Humber to support local businesses which give something back to the community.

Responding to the opening of applications for the new intake in 2014/15 The Sir David Davis said:

“Social enterprises can be enormously beneficial to the local community, often bringing innovative new services as well as jobs. This scheme gives people the support to make their ideas a reality, and is all the more valuable at a time when times are hard and many small businesses can’t get access to credit as easily as we’d like them to.

“The £15,000 grant on offer for ‘scaling up’ could make a huge difference to a growing business while £4,000 could be instrumental in getting a good idea off the ground. Combined with the incredibly popular training and advice programmes offered by the School for Social Entrepreneurs this represents a real opportunity for businesses in Haltemprice and Howden to develop and I would strongly recommend applying.”
