David Davis welcomes funding announcement for East Riding’s first free school

In light of the announcement made to David Davis by Lord Nash at the Department for Education which confirms funding for the first free school in East Riding, Mr Davis has said:

“It is excellent news that funding has been confirmed for Hunsley Primary School, this will now ensure a September starting date for the school.

Hunsley Primary, the first free school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, will help improve choice, drive up standards and ease the pressure on school places in the area.

I would like to congratulate the Hunsley Trust on this excellent achievement and hope that Hunsley Primary School is only the first of many free schools across the East Riding.”
