Dreambert and Bedsmith, two Pi’illo beings, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. They find themselves in a strange house in a strange town, feeling lost and confused. Just as panic sets in, a strange man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He suggests that they must have passed out while watching TV the night before, but before they can explain more, things take a turn for the worse. A Star Sprite creature named Starlow arrives, claiming to be their friend. He says they had plans to go out, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of him or any such plans. Reluctantly, they follow Starlow outside, unsure of their surroundings. They wander through the town, seemingly not recognizing their surroundings or Starlow. Despite his confusion, Starlow continues to interact with them as if they were longtime friends. While showing them around, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and their names, trying to reassure them. However, Dreambert and Bedsmith are still confused and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day progresses, Starlow becomes more concerned and at first thinks they are just pretending to forget. But as their strange behavior continues, he begins to worry that there is something seriously wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens and he wonders if there is something more behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky, who claims to still be their father, offers them an unfamiliar bed. Too tired and confused to protest, they settle in for the night. As they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their identities, their pasts, and the reason for their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they drift off into a peaceful sleep, unsure of the future.
