David Davis calls for the Government to backdate new anti-wind farm measures
As reported in The Hull Daily Mail;
“MP David Davis wants new Government rules giving communities more say on whether wind farms are built to be made retrospective.
Government guidance means residents’ concerns will now take precedence over the requirement to provide renewable energy.
The new package of measures will also increase the amount of money communities receive if wind farms are built.
Mr Davis, MP for Haltemprice and Howden, said: “These new planning laws are a shot in the arm for communities in the East Riding.
“It is absolutely right that the views of local people take priority over national targets.
“The Government now needs to go further and make the new planning rules retrospective for projects early in the planning pipeline.”
